McCracken Jail Custody Role
The official McCracken County Jail website links to Current Inmates, Court Docket, Inmate Services, Inmate Deposits, Contact, Directions, and other jail information. That makes it a useful receiving-jail channel for Livingston County users when the local Livingston County Jailer's Office says a person was transported to Paducah. Recent Livingston County arrest reporting also described suspects from a Smithland burglary call being taken to McCracken County Jail, and older Kentucky reporting described Livingston-to-McCracken transports.
This page should not be read as saying every Livingston County detainee is housed in McCracken County. It is one documented regional path. A person may be released, housed at another outside jail, held for court, moved to DOC after sentencing, or taken into federal custody. The receiving facility controls the current roster and the day-to-day custody services while Livingston County courts may still handle the local criminal case.
McCracken Jail Capacity
The research did not capture an official McCracken County Regional Jail capacity figure from the jail website. Conflicting third-party numbers were not used. For this facility page, the safer public-record statement is that McCracken is a county or regional jail receiving pretrial and sentenced county inmates, but no official capacity number is supplied in the source set.
The lack of an official capacity figure does not weaken the roster value. The important record-access fact is that the jail's own current-inmates page is the source to check when local Livingston County officials point a family member or attorney to McCracken. For broader sentenced-prison searches, KOOL remains separate from the McCracken jail roster.
Search McCracken Jail Roster
Use the McCracken County current-inmates page for current jail custody. The page was linked from the official jail website, although it was not fully text-inspectable from the research environment. If a recent Livingston County arrest does not appear there, call the Livingston County Jailer's Office first, then call McCracken County Regional Jail to confirm whether the person was booked, released, or moved.
- Confirm with the Livingston County Jailer's Office or sheriff that McCracken is the receiving jail.
- Open the official McCracken current-inmates page from the jail website rather than a commercial arrest site.
- Search or scan by name and compare the booking details with the arrest date and Livingston County case information.
- Call the jail if the roster is unclear, the person was just arrested, or a release, hold, or transport may have changed the status.
For sentenced felony prisoners, use Kentucky Offender Online Lookup instead of the county jail roster. KOOL covers Kentucky DOC inmates and supervised offenders. It is not designed to replace a receiving jail's same-day booking list.
McCracken Jail Contact
The contact information below comes from the official McCracken County jail contact source in the research file. Use it for custody confirmation, visit questions, inmate services, and deposit routing once the person is believed to be housed in McCracken County Regional Jail. Court records for the Livingston County case still begin with Livingston County court channels.

McCracken Jail Visits
The official inmate-services material says McCracken County Jail offers two ways to visit: online and at the jail. The route named in the research is InmateSales, with help available at 877-998-5678. A visitor should create or use the correct account, check the schedule inside the provider system, and follow jail rules on ID, clothing, behavior, and approved visitor status.
| Visit Option | Official Route | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Online video visit | InmateSales | Account setup, available times, device rules, and fees shown by provider |
| Jail visit | InmateSales and jail schedule | Approved visitor status, ID, arrival time, and facility rules |
| Attorney or legal visit | Contact jail or counsel route | Current legal-visit procedure and document requirements |
| Recently transported detainee | Call jail before scheduling | Booking completion, housing status, holds, and movement |
Do not assume that a person transported from Livingston County is immediately eligible for a visit. Intake, classification, court movement, medical review, or release processing can affect the first available visit window.
McCracken Jail Phone Money
The official inmate-services research identifies Combined Public Communications as the phone vendor for McCracken County Jail and Workhouse. The jail also has an official inmate-deposits page for money. Exact deposit fees were not captured, so fee amounts should not be invented. Use the official jail deposit path and check the current provider screen before sending funds.
| Service | Provider or Official Route | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | Combined Public Communications | Use the jail's inmate-services instructions for accounts and limits |
| Online or jail visits | InmateSales | Help phone listed in research: 877-998-5678 |
| Money deposit | Official inmate deposits page | Current instructions and fees must be checked at the official route |

McCracken Jail Booking Intake
When a Livingston County arrestee is transported to McCracken County Regional Jail, the booking record is created by the receiving jail. Intake may include officer handoff, identity confirmation, property inventory, search, photographs, fingerprints, medical and mental-health screening, classification, phone access under facility rules, and housing assignment. That jail record is different from the Livingston County arrest report and different from the court case file.
A new booking may not appear at the same moment a transport starts. If the person was just arrested, the local jailer or sheriff may know the transport path before the public roster updates. If bond or a court order is the main issue, the court record and clerk may be the better source. If a hold exists from another county, probation, parole, DOC, federal authorities, or ICE, the roster may not tell the whole release story.
For Livingston County families, the intake handoff also affects who can answer a question. Livingston officers may know why the person was arrested and where the person was sent. McCracken jail staff can speak to current housing and jail services after booking. Court staff can point to filed charges and scheduled hearings. Keeping those roles separate reduces wrong calls and helps avoid relying on stale third-party results.
McCracken Jail Public Records
Kentucky open-records law can apply to jail records, but the request must go to the right custodian. For a McCracken booking, contact the McCracken jail or the responsible county office. For a Livingston sheriff report, contact Livingston County. For the Livingston court case, contact the Livingston Circuit Court Clerk. A roster entry is a useful current-custody clue, but it is not always the full record file.
KRS 61.870 to 61.884 provides the general Kentucky Open Records Act framework. Some information may be withheld or redacted because of active investigations, juvenile confidentiality, sealed cases, medical information, jail security concerns, or other legal limits. Written requests should include a name, date, agency, and specific record type so staff can search the correct system.
VINE is another access channel when the main need is release or transfer notice instead of a document copy. Kentucky DOC states that VINE covers county jails and prisons and can send phone or email alerts for release, transfer, escape, and some parole-hearing events. VINE does not replace the McCracken roster, but it can help track custody changes after a Livingston County arrest has moved outside the county.
Note: Use McCracken's official jail pages for custody services, and Livingston court channels for the local case record.
